ifly/Cycladic supports the journey of the Olympic Flame
With great emotion and pride, following the initiative of Cycladic and Mrs. Katerina Katopi, member of the Olympic Committee, the Ifly/Cycladic aircraft carried the Olympic Flame to Kastelorizo and Heraklion, contributing to its journey throughout Greece.
The Olympic Flame began its journey on Tuesday, April 16, from Ancient Olympia to Paris for this year’s Olympic Games that will be held from April 26 to August 11, 2024. For 10 days, the emblematic Olympic light passed through 41 municipalities of Greece, covering a total of more than 5,000 kilometers, and carrying the timeless messages of peace and unity among peoples. The last stop of the Olympic Flame was the Panathenaic Stadium of Athens, where on Friday, April 26, the Handing- over Ceremony to the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games “Paris 2024” took place.
The lighting of the Olympic Flame and its transfer to the venue of the Olympic Games through a torch relay was performed for the first time and established as an institution at the Olympic Games, in Berlin, in 1936.
